Beginning of August.
Had a Skype conversation with my Sister-in-Law ( an exerienced blogger) who pointed out that my blog would be easier to read if I composed a new post each time, rather than tacking on to the end of the original - thanks Jane - so here goes;
We visited the site early evening last Tuesday, after the Bayram break, only to find that nothing had happpened since our last visit 11 days ago. So disappointing. It seems as though if work stops for any reason, it is difficult to get the workers back. I think they lose momentum/interest. Phone call from very cross husband to our builder resulted in 5 workers arriving on site first thing Wednesday morning.
Further visit on Friday to meet with builder to discuss siting of septic tanks, electrics, solar panels (we have been to speak to solar people and we intend to be entirely energy self-sufficient), roof tiles, window openings and other facinating building related matters.
The workers are putting the shuttering in, ready for the first concrete pour for the floor;
Still no takers for the bed, you will notice.
I took this standing on, what will be, the pool terrace.
Apparently, after the first pour, there will be a layer of damp proofing then a layer of stones and earth. The pipes will be laid for water, waste and electrics and finally another concrete pour. Then the interesing bit, pillars and roof!!!! Not sure how long this first stage will take to complete but our builder says it is time to start looking for doors, windows and floor tiles ,- exciting or what ????
