23d August.
Lots more shopping this week.  We have changed our mind about the terrace tiles, having taken one back to Kayalar and left it in full sun for a few hours, you could have fried eggs on it. No good for bare feet so, back to the drawing board on that one.However, kitchen, bathroom units and built-in wardrobes now sorted so things seem to be coming along nicely. We spent some time making a list of all the outstanding things to buy (I do like a list) and it is a bit daunting. However, just having put it all down on paper feels like an achievement.

We are still a bit confused about the solar panels though. Friends who own a cafe have spoken to the same 2 companies as us and recently found another Tukish company.  This lot say that the electricity provider here (Kib Tech) do not yet have the meters which allow you to feed excess energy back to the grid and even when they do, they have no imediate intentions of giving credit. We knew that we would not get money back, as in the UK, but had been told that we could build up units of credit which could be used when there is no sun.  We need to do a bit more research on this but it is looking as though we will have to go with battery back-up, adding several thousands of pounds to the cost. As the majority of our energy use is at night - air conditioning in Summer and underfloor heating in Winter, can't see how else this sysem will work.

This weeks visit to the land was good.  Lots more concrete poured and now the shuttering has been taken away, the layout of the house is beginning to become more obvious;

 The front of the house.
 On the front porch looking into the hallway.

 The view from the Media Room.

 This space will one day be our swimming pol.
 The view from the pool, looking up into the mountains.

This is where the BBQ area might be - can't quite see it yet though.

This week should see the final layer of compacted gravel and concrete, leaving us with (fingers crossed) a floor by the end of the week.  However, the temperatues are now back up in the 40s and we feel really sorry for the men working on the site.
