23rd November.    It is a bit difficult taking photos when the workmen are on site and when we go up to the land at the end of the day (and we do most days) the light is not good.  So, as today is a beautiful day and it is Sunday, as promised -  photos - and apologies but there are loads;
Front of the house. Garage door to the left, 4th bedroom window of the right of the porch.

View from the road side.

View from the very bottom of the land, left hand corner.

Looking down the hallway.

Hallway. Door into garage on the left, arch into the guest rooms to the right.

Main guest en-suite with French Doors to the side.

Coming out of the main guest room, looking down the passage to the 4th bedroom.

View from the main guest room French Doors.

3rd bedroom, en-suite.

French Doors in 3rd bedroom. We have decided that, in order to fit wardrobes in, this will need to be moved 25cm to the right.

Eddy has concerns about the layout of the 3rd bedroom en-suite.  Will need to be changed.

4th bedroom, leading to the en-suite.

View from 4th bedroom en-suite.

Standing outside the utility room, looking towards the terrace.

Standing on the front terrace, looking into the lounge/kitchen. Our bedroom door to the left.

Kitchen. Door to front terrace to the left and sink to go under the window.

Standing in the lounge, leading out to the pool terrace. This whole wall will be folding glass

Looking into our bedroom from the covered terrace. There is a double sided wardrobe/dessing room behind the wall and our en-suite behind that.  Door to the right.

View from our bed (taken crouching down so I could see the view I will wake up to).

Looking into the lounge from the covered patio.  Eddy just going into the media room.

The terrace outside the kitchen door. Looks a bit like a cell block at the moment though.

Side of the house, stairs to the upper terrace.

Covered terrace to the right, Our dressing room and en-suite window to the left.

Sorry for posting so many photos but it is finally starting to resemble the house that started off in my head 18 months ago and I am excited!!!!!

17th November.  This week has been a good one. We have found someone (Ozzie) who seems to know what he is talking about regarding solar power and have agreed a price. It is quite expensive but he says that the system should pay for itself in 4 years. We have sunshine around 360 days a year (according to the tourist board) so it make sense to use it.We have also agreed a price (with Vladimir) for under-floor heating.  Although we enjoyed having a wood burner in our old house, it is quite messy and we have decided to try to heat soley by electricity. We have also decided to have a well dug (water is expensive here and often cut off for days on end in the Summer) so had a Water Diviner (Mr. Abdullah) doing 'his thing' - facinating to watch.  He has found water in 3 places;
 Mr.A starts at the furthest corner and walks the perimeter.  He has 2 metal rods which he holds up by his chest, at right angles.

 He found water here first.

 Mr A. found the strongest water source at the front of the property.  No the most convenient place but he was adamant that this is where the well should be dug. He says that water will be found at "not less than 30 metres".
 When the rods indicated water, he held a heavy metal weight over the spot.  This then whizzed around like mad.  Mr. A. is satisfied that this is the spot.  However, there are no guarantees!!!

The wall men have been working all week and should be finished this weekend.  We have a meeting scheduled with the kitchen planner on Monday so, fingers crossed.  The roof man visited the site this week and we await his estimate. He will also let us know how many roof tiles we need to order. We don't want the usual bright orange ones as we plan to have a grey and white finish on the walls. Our builder (Hakki) is also arranging men to come to start rendering the walls as soon as they are finished. We have recently learned that our furniture needs to be moved out of our friends house (empty and we have been allowed to store our stuff there) earlier than anticipated so the new house needs to be secure by the middle of January, at the very latest.  It the weather holds, I intend to take more photos on Sunday.

5 November site visit. Quite a bit has gone on with the build since I last updated but I have been too busy to post.  I am the Events Organiser for The Royal British Legion (Kyrenia branch) and this is 'Poppy Season' so we have a Ball to organise on top of ordering and (more painfully) paying for all the tiles and sanitary ware.  Nearly all done now and the only tiles left to find are the kitchen splashbacks (we changed our minds on ones we had decided on months ago).
We have been called to the build quite a few times to confirm position of water pipes (the ones laid before the floor went down were destroyed when the concrete people took down the metal ceiling forms) and position and size of window and door openings. We are really lucky to be living so near so it is not problem to pop up there at a few moments notice.
The wall man was due to start work last weekend but we had really heavy rains so work didn't start 'till 3 days ago. Our builder (Hakki) says that 200 blocks a day will be laid so as there are 3,200 of them, it should only take a couple of weeks, providing the weather holds. When we visited today, we were delighted to find some walls;

 Looking into our bedroom from the covered porch.
 Stairs to the upstairs patio.
 Opening for patio doors from covered porch to loungs.
 Opening for folding doors from lounge to terrace area.
 Outside of the (Winter) sitting room / media room.

 Our bedroom window opening - can you see the view?

 Eddy checking the window opening in the media room.
 Looking down the hallway from the front door.
 The house from pool-side.
Coming in from the road to the front door.

Annoyingly, we thought we had found the right person to work with for the underfloor heating and solar power but he is so busy, it seems he doesn't even have time to give us an estimate - grrrr!! When Poppy week has finished, my priority is to be on his case,
